It's a '82 recording of the '77 christmas TV special. Before '82 is was never released as an a-track. So this is the first pressing of this track. Also this is a official RCA issue. This track was before '82 only available as a b-side on a bootleg.
In '82 RCA wanted to release this track as an official a-track single. RCA wanted to release it with the b-side as David's song 'Fantastic Voyage'. But David Bowie was unhappy with this move. David Bowie, who already had a strained relationship with RCA, left the label soon after

Recorded in Mono, 'cause the television x-mas special was also recorded in Mono in '77. Although the label says Stereo.
