Meredith Willson was a gifted composer/lyricist/playwright and "The Music Man" was one of his biggest hits. It opened on Broadway in December 1957 and was an immediate favorite of critics and audiences. This recording by the original London cast was released in 1972 with American actor Van Johnson as Professor Harold Hill, the role Robert Preston made famous in the original Broadway production.Other versions
