This 16-CD set collects all of Ella Fitzgerald's Songbooks, a monumental tribute to the American popular song and its greatest composers, recorded for Verve between 1956 and 1964.

16 CD Red Felt Box Set presents all of Ella's classic songbook albums in their original form - all the original LP jacket and label artwork, all the original liner notes, and all the packaging - reproduced as a series of miniature CD albums - over 240 songs including several alternate takes.

Also enclosed is a 120 page hard cover book including complete recording information, a history of these sessions, interviews with Verve founder Norman Granz and the songbook arrangers and rare photographs.

All the music has been newly remastered from the original LP sources for the best sound ever.

CD1 through CD4 have orange Verve labels and CD5 through CD16 have black Verve labels.

1. CD1 and CD2 are in a common slipcase with replica cover of the original Verve album (MGV 4001-2) released in 1956.
2. CD3 and CD4 are in a common slipcase with replica cover of the original Verve album (MGV 4002-2) released in 1957.
