Crash the Car's first full length album, They Built Houses Here, was released independently on November 19, 2008. It was produced by Walter Bloodway, recorded and mixed by multi-instrumentalist Jordy Walker (Christine Fellows, Kepler, Kim Barlow), and mastered by Graemme Brown (Zen Mastering). The 13 songs here are ones from a former punk musician, percolated through a basement indie esthetic and sounding more folk than rock, an album inspired by a short story Cashen and a good friend had written.
