Notes

In 2007, a ZOOM H4 digital portable recorder was acquired and a whole new world of sound became available. It has always been a dream to be able to record audio in the field with high enough fidelity to capture all the nuances of the sounds without introducing noticeable artifacts, distortion or noise into the recording. Previous tape based systems always had issues with hiss, saturation and clipping that all became a thing of the past with the H4. Presented here is a small sampling of some of the best and favorite recordings produced with this device over the years. Most have been used as sample sources or background sounds in various compositions.
