We would like to say thank you to everybody who supported us in our crowdfunding efforts on Qrates.com. We tried our first ever crowdfunding campaign on the newly launched vinyl platform Qrates.com, and we were able to reach 500 orders, which means the vinyl will be successfully released. We dedicated our August issue to both Common and J Dilla, and started this vinyl compilation project to commemorate the issue and to pay respect to the two greats. We had the chance to get Common's blessing on the project in September when he came to Japan, and we are extremely happy that the campaign was a success. Sadly, one of the best to ever do it, and hero to all of us, J Dilla is not with us anymore but a part of the proceeds are going to J Dilla's family. The compilation is a product of 500 fans of Common, J Dilla and loyal readers of Wax Poetics Japan coming together to actualize something tangible. Though all of these tracks can be listened to digitally very easily, we feel that actually owning these songs on a piece of vinyl, and dropping the needle in the groove is the best way to truly enjoy and appreciate these timeless tracks, and we hope the compilation becomes something you will want to keep with you for years to come.
