"Slayers Bay Blues was recorded by Electric Eel Shock on their own Eight track recorder in Tokyo and New York at various times in 1999. The extreme distortion is a reaction to the too clean recording on 'Maybe We Can Beat Nirvana'."This album demonstrates a band completely experimenting - a mass of influences can be heard in the embryonic EES. Some tracks were the result of complete spontineity such as Orange Is Back which was a reaction to someone returning Aki's Orange Amp during one recording session. And some tracks, such as the Jazz tinged Heavy Metal Vagabond, were only ever played when they were recorded."
