Notes
Recorded Live in Bristol Connecticut, Lake Compounce 4.08.88.From Bobsboots: "A crisp stereo soundboard recording that was actually broadcast in part by WHCN, Hartford, in 1989. A great looking package as well. The cover photo is a 1988 promotional shot used by Aquarius Pictures for the Hearts Of Fire film. The back shows Bob at his January 1988Hall Of Fame induction show. Even though this stereo PA tape is super quite with little to no audience; this is one of those performances that's just hard to get too excited about. Bob sings as if he's a caricature of himself. He exaggerates all the 'Dylan nuances', forgets the entire first verse of I Don't Believe You, and mumbles God knows what. You can't get by with that on this clean of a soundboard tape. His heart just doesn't seem in it. An acoustic To Ramona was performed after Highway 61 Revisited, but needed to be eliminated to allow the show to fit onto one disc. Unfortunately, this was the most expressive, heartfelt song of the show (but not by much). If your only goal, however, is to find a great sounding 1988 soundboard, this is the one".
