Notes
From the liner notes:"The Stolen Stars" is a continuation of battles between the primal goddess Aunan and her former accomplices - and now rivals - Sant, Cerdo, and Belili. In the first battle, the wheel of the universe, although saved, sustained some damage which caused a slight teetering, what we refer to as the "Procession of the Equinox." Here, Cerdo and Belili (Sant, still suffering fromhis wounds in the battle, is incapable of action) create their "Star Eater," which is incapable of vast movement, so the stars have to be brought to it. There is little to prevent such destruction to the cosmos. (We can still see the blackened areas of the Milky Way where this beast has consumed the stars in its path.) Finally, one of the "108 Stars of Orientation," each containing one of the 108 Jinns, is stolen. A great cosmic chase ensues, but to little avail. In the battle that follows, the star is destroyed but not consumed, leaving only the jar with its Jinn. When they open the jar, the trickster inside looses havoc on them, but they finally get rid of the jar by hurling it into space. Aunan is aided by both the dragonflies and the bees in recovering the remnants of the star and taking them to the starsmith, who reforms the star fragments into a new star and is rejoined by the Jinn.
The music for this dance-drama starts as the flying insects (bowed strings) arrive with the star fragments, the Jinn returns (metallophones), and the smiths (bass meru bars) proceed to repound the star into shape.
